After studying Law at Cambridge University, Amanda trained with a City firm and qualified as a solicitor in 1985. She practised in London and then in Dorset for a number of years while her children were young and has been working in the Hampshire area since 2004. Amanda joined Godwins in 2017 from a Basingstoke firm where she was a partner and head of the Private Client Department.
Amanda advises on the preparation and interpretation of wills and trusts, the administration of trusts and estates, tax planning and the affairs of the elderly, often working alongside other professionals. She is a member of STEP, a worldwide professional association for those advising families in the area of trusts, wills and estates across generations, helping people understand the issues families face in this area of law and promoting best practice, professional integrity and education to its members. Amanda is also a member of the Law Society Private Client section, a fully accredited member of SFE (Solicitors for the Elderly) and a Dementia Friend.
When not working, Amanda enjoys visiting tea shops and spending time with her husband, her (now grown up) children and extended family, preferably somewhere by the sea.
